It's that time of year when established artists, up & coming talents and struggle rappers alike can all take a break from sending us links to their new "hot fire music video" and apply to perform at Shoko Festival 2016. Here's the official press release from Shoko itself:
The full Shoko Festival 2015 program is available finally, and as the resourceful yet cheap mavericks that we are, we have managed to obtain it for you in full! Don't forget, it's $5 entry per day which gives you full access to ALL the shows on that day (a veritable fortune for us, but surely a pittance for you Mr Moneybagses out there) AND FREE on Saturday for the Peace In The Hood concert in Chitungwiza.
A short while ago Harare was treated to a little shindig that local residents have come to know as Shoko Festival. (Pronounced Showkow by the natives)
Shoko Festival just announced that the UK House production and DJ tandem of Leigh Darlow and Alex Paschali aka The Layabouts will be headlining Shoko Festival's Saturday (27 September) DJ Party with Jason Le Roux.
Shoko Festival is set to inspire the capital city from the 25th-28th of September 2014 under the theme ‘Re-Inspire Re-Imagine’ at Alex Sports Club. This year’s edition will feature international headline acts such as Nneka (Germany), Loyiso Gola (South Africa), Buddy Wakefield (USA), and Chester Missing (South Africa). Zimbabwe will be represented by sensational headline acts such as Netsayi, Tehn Diamond, Ammara Brown, Jason Leroux, Rax & Raydizz and Ba Shupi.
The boys are back! Dan & Phil sit and catch up on a bunch of stuff, they celebrate Zimbabweans opening for Coldplay in Australia, their great experience at the 263 Culture Fest, some stuff about the American election and even touch on Chris Brown's concert in South Africa. It's fun, enjoy!
