BLACK GIRLS ROCK! ™ Is Coming To Africa
Beverly Bond, founder, CEO and executive producer of BLACK GIRLS ROCK! recently announced that she was expanding her extremely successful BGR movement into Africa.
Following the successful model of the BLACK GIRLS ROCK! platform in the United States, Bond will soon bring her empowerment movement to the African continent. BLACK GIRLS ROCK! AFRICA is a multifaceted digital, media, and lifestyle platform that will continue to elevate Black women and girls in Africa and beyond. In addition to partnering with community-based organizations to spearhead outreach initiatives on the continent, Bond is also collaborating with VIMN Africa/BET (Africa) to develop a pan-African BGR! Awards show in 2016.
“The purpose of the BLACK GIRLS ROCK! AFRICATM platform is to recognize, support, and celebrate the diversity and dynamism of Black women in Africa and the African Diaspora,” says Bond. “BLACK GIRLS ROCK! AFRICATM will tap into our growing international market by illuminating the vibrant cultures and valiant narratives of our African sisters who are sheroes and trailblazers.” –said Bond
At the BET Experience Africain Johannesburg last month, BGR! AFRICA hosted a BLACK GIRLS ROCK! featuring live interviews with Tanzanian supermodel Millen Magese, radio host and style icon Bonang Matheba and actress Nomzamo Mbatha.
