The Sanii Makhalima Episode
Once again, like that annoying boil on your bottom, Zimbabwe’s 34th most beloved podcast is back with another episode. This week we sit down with one of the pioneers of the Zimbabwean Urban Grooves music scene who has been in the game for a decade a half and worked with almost every influential Urban Groove act in the country. None other than Sanii Makhalima!
We discuss his humble beginnings that involved selling freezits to secure studio time to how his independent label Galaxy Records shipped over 100,000 units of music on their own before 2005’s Operation Murambatsvina disrupted their business severely.
We also discuss his massive success, views on Zimbabwean music and how he got walloped by Dan in a tense game of FIFA.
We play out the episode with Sanii's new single titled Mashoko
‘Ello there fellow innits and +44s! As of next week, this podcast will be focused solely on the care worker industry, with tips and tricks on how best to get a geriatric patient to stop calling you slurs while you try to give her medication. Until then, our dialogue is focused on the riveting topics of streaming services, bad reviews about sadza spots in Harare, why artists can't get paid for their work, and upcoming events.
